We have leftover polish kielbasa, yogurt dip for the apples below, rice, and some cauliflower and grape tomatoes. The yogurt dip I make with fat-free plain greek yogurt, peanut butter, and a bit of cinnamon, it is delicious! Punkin even eats it just like that when the apples are gone :) I've been looking at different bento style lunchboxes and I have decided to purchase a Yumbox for Punkin. I have LunchBots Uno on the way for me that should be here tomorrow. I'm really excited to go on fun picnics this summer :)

In crafting news, I finally got around to taking a look at this Cabbage Patch Kid hat that people have been going mad for. I decided it would be easy enough for me to make without a pattern so I just decided to wing it. It turned out pretty darned cute! A bit tight for Punkin but it fits her little cousin perfectly. I will gift it to her and make Punkin one slightly bigger. Of course with all the yarn I have I don't have any great colors for these hats, the best I could rummage up was this gold color.

And here is the baby in it.
Sorry for the red eye.Stacyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02933608747298706503noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6753302085797240235.post-27257127301287598082014-01-22T18:16:00.000-07:002014-01-22T18:16:33.280-07:00Two bento mealsYesterday my little munchkin went to her grandma's for the afternoon so we didn't have a bento lunch. So instead I made her a bento supper:

I made some corn dog muffins, peas and carrots, ketchup for the corn dogs, and some sliced pears. This was the first time making the corn dog muffins and they turned out pretty good. I made some larger ones in rectangle shape for the man. Very easy, just a box of Jiffy corn muffin mix (prepared) and sliced up hotdogs.

Today she gobbled up her whole lunch with no prodding at all.

Grape tomato and cucumber, sliced banana, Ritz crackers, turkey roll-ups, and cheddar cheese. Since she ate so well I let her have one of the chocolate chip cookies I was baking for a friend who just lost his dad.Stacyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02933608747298706503noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6753302085797240235.post-79777063403843491702014-01-21T13:38:00.000-07:002014-01-21T13:40:01.006-07:00Bento LunchesI have recently become a fan of Bento style lunches. What an easy way to make nutritious lunches for kids and adults alike! I'm especially excited to start this with my 2-year-old daughter. I made the first one yesterday and it was a big hit!

We have turkey roll ups, cheddar triangles, unsweetened applesauce with cinnamon, grape tomatoes and cucumbers, and pretzels.

Bela loved the colorful containers :) I just used a Ziploc container bottom to hold the silicone baking molds in place for now. I'm looking at all the different Bento lunch boxes and trying to decide which ones to get for us.

I can't wait to make more of these lunches and get more creative as I go!Stacyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02933608747298706503noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6753302085797240235.post-51474464023782415722013-06-26T21:43:00.000-06:002013-06-26T21:43:25.669-06:00I've been a busy girl!First off, potty training update. DD is doing great! She has an accident every once in awhile but for all intents and purposes she is potty trained!! We still use pull-ups at night but she usually only wets about once a week, not bad for an 18 1/2-month-old.

I have been having a great time picking out paint colors for K's house. He is excited that the house is finally getting some character after living there for almost 3 years...typical bachelor :) No, he works so much that there isn't much time for him to worry about home decor. I love it though so I'm glad I get the opportunity. Things are going really well with us too. He is such a sweet, caring, and honest guy and he is great with DD. I seem to get way more accomplished when I am with him...or just at his place :)

I finally cooked up a batch of Mom's Super Laundry Sauce tonight. It is separating right now and I can whip it when I get up at 2am to go to work. I really hope it works well and I can't wait to try it. I'm pretty sure K will have a load of greasy, dirty work clothes that I can try it out on tomorrow or Friday :)

I also started the No Poo (no shampoo) thing tonight. My hair feels so clean, soft, and light right now! I will post updates but I think I'm really going to like this :)

Both of the above ideas were found through Pinterest. I am completely addicted! I have even tried quite a few of the things I have found there...although I have many, many more things pinned that I need to try.

But now I need to go to bed since it is almost 11pm and I need to get up at 2am!!Stacyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02933608747298706503noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6753302085797240235.post-80650719616677069472013-03-10T13:12:00.000-06:002013-03-10T17:23:35.693-06:00Potty trainingDD is now 15 months old and has been pooping on the toilet since last November. I decided it was time to potty train her. We started 4 days ago and she is doing quite well. The first day we went through about 15 pairs of pants but she has gotten better each day. So far today we are only on our second pair and it is 2:00 in the afternoon.

I was going to trying training pants but I couldn't find any that would fit her. She weighs about 21 lbs. right now and the smallest training pants I could find start at 29 lbs. I decided we would go straight to the underwear (which weren't too easy to find in her size either). I figured, what is the difference between washing pants versus cloth diapers? Also, she fits into much smaller pants without the bulky diaper so we have lots of pants. She even fits into some 6-9 month sized pants! I had her in 18 month size (and some 24 month) with the diapers on.

At home she sits on the normal toilet with a padded toddler seat and at my grandma's house she has a potty chair or she uses the travel potty seat on the toilet. I've been giving her stickers each time she goes....there are stickers everywhere, lol. I have been meaning to read some tips and tricks on potty training but I've been too busy and we seem to be doing pretty well. Hopefully we won't have to deal with diapers at all pretty soon!Stacyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02933608747298706503noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6753302085797240235.post-41555368171978566252012-05-31T21:46:00.001-06:002012-05-31T21:46:33.391-06:00Once again it has been awhile since I posted. On December 15th, 2011 I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. She is now my life and takes up all of my time...which is why I haven't been blogging :) Motherhood is such a joy. I never believed I could love someone so entirely before. She is growing so fast though :(

Besides that I have been spending a lot of time with my grandma. She was recently diagnosed with lung cancer and is currently undergoing chemo treatments. I get to see her every day and she loves spending time with Bela. Bela absolutely adores her too :) She is doing very well so far and I hope she has many years left with us.

I have re-started Weight Watchers. I have about 16 pounds left to pre-baby weight and then I will see if my old clothes fit. If they don't I will be shooting to lose more. I refuse to buy new clothes so whatever I have to do to fit in the ones I have is the goal.

My knitting and crochet goals for the year are way behind. I just don't have much time to work on projects. I'm still in the House Cup though and so far I've managed 3 classes and detention this month. I'm working on a 4th class so we will see if it gets done before midnight. And with that I am off to knit :)Stacyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02933608747298706503noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6753302085797240235.post-47727306859547509212011-09-10T08:11:00.000-06:002011-09-10T08:11:23.974-06:00SeptemberTerm is going good so far. The first few days were hard because there were a million OWL proposals to go through. I literally spent over 10 hours doing approvals in the first 2 days!! Luckily that has slowed down and I now have time to work on my projects.

I finished a pair of fingerless mitts that will be handed in for DADA. I might add a coordinating item though so I haven't handed them in yet. I started a dress for Anabela and a monster in Green Bay Packers colors. I also have the Green Dress done except for finishing. I've started 2 of the blankets for my OWL and both are going great so far.

Speaking of the Packers, the first game of the season was Packers vs. Saints at Lambeau. Since it was the first game I got to see it on tv here in Colorado. It was such and exciting game. The team is looking great so far this year! We won by the way :)

It is finally starting to cool off here and I am excited. It has been far too hot here this summer and I really didn't enjoy it. This is my first fall here so we will see what it brings. Hopefully I will be able to wear some knits soon :)Stacyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02933608747298706503noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6753302085797240235.post-47327082095381849752011-08-22T17:00:00.000-06:002011-08-22T17:00:25.468-06:00So excited for this termMany Tower mates and I recently purchased The Big Book of Knitted Monsters and we are planning a monster a-long. Also, probably in November there will be a Barbie Yule Ball Gown duel. I'm pretty sure I won't win but I am really excited to make a pretty Barbie Ball Gown for my newest barbie. I really want the new shoe pack but I just can't justify spending the money on it right now. I also have lots of projects that I'm pretty excited about. Now I just have to work on WIPs until September 1st......that is a bit difficult :(Stacyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02933608747298706503noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6753302085797240235.post-58154644506813618592011-08-17T12:15:00.000-06:002011-08-17T12:15:56.707-06:00I am a terrible blogger!!!It has been awhile! And a lot has happened!

The past term of HPKCHC went very well. I enjoyed being an OWL examiner so I am going to do it again this term :) I failed my own OWL and I wasn't nearly as productive as I wanted to be....but I have a good reason :) I was so tired in the month of June I could barely knit or crochet. Turns out I'm having a baby!!

I'm due December 20th so I'm at about 5 months right now. At least 2 others in Ravenclaw Tower are pregnant, TriGirlJ is due in December as well and Sleep2Dreamer is due in February. I also have 2 friends from Superior that are due in October, one in Florida due in March, and at least 4 friends from high school that have had babies in the last couple of months!! Talk about baby time :)

Anyway, lots of baby things planned for this term and some cardigans for myself :) Let's hope I am more productive this term.Stacyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02933608747298706503noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6753302085797240235.post-34860457577632180072011-04-23T09:25:00.001-06:002011-04-23T09:26:20.563-06:00New term starts soon!!!!!!!I can't wait for May to start!!! I have so many projects that I want to do. I just want to cast on right now and I am impatiently trying to finish up some WIPs to give my hands something to do. I just bought a bunch of yarn that I shouldn't have :) I have plans for it all but I feel bad because I have so much yarn already. I figure I will just have to knit/crochet a lot and use it all up! I'm planning a CoMC OWL this term composed of 3 sweaters and a small pouch. I'm really excited for the sweaters. I'm also an OWL examiner this coming term and I'm really excited about that. I can't wait to see everyone's proposals :)

There is a Butterfly Spin-Along in Ravenclaw Tower. I bought the Butterfly kit but I also bought a bigger spindle and plain fiber to practice on because I don't want to ruin the pretties. I'm doing pretty good so far. I have one single done and balled up ready to ply with the second single once I get it spun. It is a bit uneven but not too bad for my first try :)

The Ravenclaws (and anyone else that wants to stop by) are also doing a Steampunk-Along. I had no idea what steampunk was until they started the thread and now that I know I love it!! We even chose steampunk names, I am Lady Estella Storey Wheelingham V! I ordered my yarn and will be knitting Transatlantic by Stephen West. I really like his patterns and it makes me want to move back to Europe. Who knows, if things keep going the way they are now I just may move there :(

One of the girls at work wants me to make her some baby hats to use for her photography business. She has a few friends that would probably be interested in some crafty stuff as well so hopefully I can make some extra money.

I have some many projects I want to work on this term and I am so tempted to go in the class threads in the Staff room to see the prompts but I love being surprised on the 1st of the month so I am resisting the urge :) I have so many things that I want to make that I know I will be able to fit things in no matter what the prompts. I will be able to start with my OWL and Transatlantic too so it isn't like I won't have anything to do :)Stacyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02933608747298706503noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6753302085797240235.post-35411978112092977092011-02-16T00:18:00.004-07:002011-02-16T13:17:50.099-07:00Barbie ClothesIsisonearth got me interested in knitting Barbie clothes. I went out and bought 2 barbies and a Ken doll. I am on my second dress now and it is so much fun. I even earned a badge for my Fawkes Babydoll Dress from Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop on Hogsmeade weekend.

I am playing around with my Fuschia Tea Dress now to figure out waist shaping because there is none in the pattern. Here are my notes (note I am knitting using magic loop):

On the round beginning stst: k4, ssk, k6, k2tog, k4 on each needle.
Next round: k4, ssk, k4, k2tog, k4 on each needle.
Stst for 8 rounds. (next time would do more rounds here (3) and fewer after increase round)
Next round: k4, m1R, k6, m1L, k4
Stst for 12 more rounds.
Start sleeve round: k16, co 6sts, take the cable and pull a loop through with 3 sts on each side (3 sts should be at the end of the k16 and 3 sts should be at the beginning of the yet unworked stitches of the 2nd needle), k16, co 6 sts and do the same as for the other co sts. The beginnig of the round is now 3sts in on the first needle where the round always began.
Work 7 rows 1x1 rib.
Cast off and weave in ends.Stacyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02933608747298706503noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6753302085797240235.post-23423938686266556042011-02-06T10:49:00.000-07:002011-02-06T10:49:18.448-07:00Go Packers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Just have to wish my dear Packers good luck tonight in the Super Bowl!! I will be heading out to Double Tree to have some dinner and watch the game. I really wish I could be in Wisconsin tonight because I'm sure it would be much more fun. Oh well, I just hope there aren't too many Steelers fans here in Colorado.

It snowed quite a bit last night so I don't think I will be taking a nice long walk today, but I will force myself to go for a short walk and I will get some knitting done today until the game starts.

<span style="color: #274e13; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; font-size: x-large;">GO PACK GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stacyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02933608747298706503noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6753302085797240235.post-84772625725370022392011-01-29T23:13:00.000-07:002011-01-29T23:13:33.246-07:00JobI got offered a job today!!! Yay! It is at my first choice place too. Really close to home. I start sometime next week. The manager needs to get an orientation set up for me. I really hope I like it there, it seems like a nice place and they are pretty strict and organized so I should fit right in :)

I wish I could see Luis more. He is so busy at the restaurant and he doesn't even take time for himself to sleep enough. I miss him and I am only 20 minutes away :( It will help having a job so there is something to split up my days. I have been knitting and crocheting like a mad woman but it doesn't distract me enough.

I had to take Izzie in to the vet yesterday. One of her anal glands burst and she had an open wound. She is doing pretty good. The wound is healing already and she has a little more energy today. She doesn't really like to leave the chair and she licks once in awhile but she stops right away when I tell her to. She is such a good dog. In 2 weeks she gets her teeth cleaned. I am so excited because her breath smells like a dead animal.Stacyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02933608747298706503noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6753302085797240235.post-19755326871590496292011-01-13T12:00:00.000-07:002011-01-13T12:00:30.079-07:00I'm Here!!!!!!!!!!Well, I made it to Colorado and I am almost set up in my new apartment. Just finagling with a few things to try and make everything fit nicely. I love it so far. I love my apartment, I love the town, I love the view of the mountains, and I love the sun!! Even when it is cold the sun is still beating down! And I'm so glad that I am close to Luis. I still don't get to see him every day but almost :)Stacyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02933608747298706503noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6753302085797240235.post-70523921323617500022010-12-22T21:11:00.000-07:002010-12-22T21:11:30.072-07:00Colorado here I come!It is official! I found and apartment and I will be there on January 8th. I'm really excited about moving and starting a new chapter of my life. There are some friends here that I am really going to miss but that is about all that I will miss. The new apartment is bigger and nicer and the town is really nice. It is a small town but it has a lot to offer that I am interested in.
We have some very talented writers in Ravenclaw Tower and it was so nice of them to take the time and effort to do Convocation for us. I'm proud to say that I reached each milestone and was able to help save Foxy. Here are the badges I earned:
I really did a lot of knitting and crocheting for this term and I was the 10th highest points scorer of Ravenclaw. Next term I will be crafting solely from stash and I have a lot of bigger projects to do so hopefully the mojo can keep flowing. I hope the move doesn't cut down on my crafting time too much though.Stacyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02933608747298706503noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6753302085797240235.post-35939525469013718072010-12-07T13:15:00.000-07:002010-12-07T13:15:44.854-07:00I'm Moving!!!Paris was great!! I had a great time with Mom and we were able to see so many things. Mom had a great time and was really excited to have gotten to Europe...if not a little annoyed at some inconveniences...like no public restrooms :) I really want to take her to Italy sometime too.

Next week I am heading to Colorado to try to find a place to live. I'm so excited to see Luis again. I miss him sooo much. I'm flying in and renting a car at the airport. This will be the first time I've ever rented a car! I'm very excited to move but I'm not excited to have to move all my stuff...I just can't seem to get rid of anything though.

My seventh term of the HPKCHC has officially ended. It sounds like we will be starting Ministry Levels now so that will be cool. I have grand plans for next term with OWLs and getting a bunch of my stash used up. I have come to terms with myself and admitted that I have way too much yarn and I need to use it up before I buy any more. My goal is to get it all down to one rubbermaid tote and then I can buy yarn to make a Sylvi. I'm confident that I have the skill to make one now but I definitely want to get some nice yarn to make it so I will have to wait until my stash is used up...hopefully I'm not 80 by that time (I'm only 27 now).Stacyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02933608747298706503noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6753302085797240235.post-58032897844652510082010-10-31T21:52:00.000-06:002010-10-31T21:52:21.409-06:00Bye bye October, Hello Paris!Well, October is ending. I have enjoyed seeing all the leaves change and fall. I love the smell of Fall!! It is getting colder in the Northwoods and I've had to break out the hats, scarves, and mittens. I better get my winter boots out of storage too because it will start snowing very soon.

It was a pretty good month for the House Cup. I finished 4 classes, 2 OWL 50% marks, and a quidditch project. I'm really excited for the new movie to come out this November.

November 3rd my mom and I leave for Paris!!!!!!!!! We are going for 8 days, 7 nights. One day we have tickets to take the chunnel to London for the day too! Mom has never been to Europe and I'm really excited to go back. I even found some yarn stores to check out :)

I am sad to be leaving Luis though. He is leaving tonight to go to Colorado and won't be back until Wednesday night. I'm leaving Wednesday morning so we will just miss each other and I won't see him until the 11th or 12th :( There is a good possibility that we will be moving to Colorado. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I'm itching to move again but things will be really strained with his family there. I guess we will just have to see what happens....Stacyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02933608747298706503noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6753302085797240235.post-25775042983990629532010-09-30T20:58:00.006-06:002010-10-05T20:51:06.397-06:00September BadgesThese are the badges that I earned for September in the Harry Potter Knit and Crochet House Cup.
My goal is to score as many points as I can this term...it is my seventh year after all :)

October 1st would have been Dad's 60th birthday. I can't believe he has been gone for 9 years. Mom's 60th is November 6th and we will be in Paris, France celebrating. I'm so excited and I can't believe that we are actually going. Mom has never been to Europe before and I am so happy that I get to share this experience with her. She doesn't know it yet but I bought her ticket for her so that she has more money to spend on herself while we are there. She has done so much for me that this is the least I can do.

Also I am starting the UBC program on October 3rd. It is a 10 week intensive kick-boxing and body sculpting workout program 6 days a week. Mom has been doing it back home and she has seen amazing results. I really want to get in shape and I am really looking forward to it.Stacyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02933608747298706503noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6753302085797240235.post-81380553390537213042010-08-04T19:28:00.002-06:002010-08-04T19:31:29.002-06:00Well, it has only been almost a year since I wrote on my blog.... Life has been pretty hectic lately. I changed jobs, broke off my engagement, and moved. Things are finally starting to settle into a groove again so hopefully I can start knitting and crocheting more soon....although it has been really hot up here so I don't know how much I will want to play with yarn for a bit.Stacyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02933608747298706503noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6753302085797240235.post-52637066501849534752009-10-03T14:59:00.004-06:002009-10-03T15:21:37.033-06:00October KnittingIn the first 2 days of October I made a Thorpe hat for myself....okay, I kindof made it twice. I used super bulky yarn instead of bulky and the first one turned out HUGE so I ripped it back to row 10 (56 stitches) and stopped increasing there. When I got to the bottom I BO 22 stitches for the front, 10 sts on each ear flap, and BO 10 sts for the back. If I were to do it again I would only BO 20 sts in the front and have 11 on each ear flap. It still turned out great and it is super warm. I usually wear a size medium and it fits great, so that is what I would guess for a size.

I started Kernel today using my Edward Cullen Silk Sock yarn from Fresh from the Cauldron. I love this yarn and its colorway! It is so soft and nice to work with. I can't bring myself to use the gorgeous yarn on socks. I really like this pattern too. I am leaving off the beads but it is looking great so far. I'm a bit nervous about the grafting because I have never done it before and I really don't want to screw it up!!

October classes are up for HPKCHC. So far I have:

Arithmancy = Kernel

Herbology = Turtle Tracks Cowl in my Tortuga colorway of Malabrigo :)

DADA = ?

Charms = ?

Divination = ?

Transfiguration = Rosalie Hale Scarf

I want to fit My Thorpe in there somewhere since I made it this month. I have to start on Layton's xmas stocking for my OWL as well. And make more hats for Quidditch!

So far it looks like October will be a good knitting month....especially if the weather stays so crappy :(

And I am still on track for my weight loss work. I lost 6 pounds so far and I can finally fit in one pair of my too small jeans :)Stacyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02933608747298706503noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6753302085797240235.post-63513583431905307032009-09-20T13:59:00.002-06:002009-09-20T14:06:19.651-06:00Unitarian UniversalistI started attending the UU church in my area and I really like it. I wish I would have found it before. I feel very comfortable there, something that has never happened at any other church I've been to. They also have tons of different programs that I am interested in. I just have to remind myself that I can't sign up for everything right away :)

I'm thinking about joining the choir. I am not a very good singer....I'm hoping that some direction would make me better...really hoping. This morning a little girl (probably about 9yrs old) sang a solo and it was amazing.

I love how many programs they have to help the community and the environment. It just feels like a great place to be.Stacyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02933608747298706503noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6753302085797240235.post-50885112841433923952009-09-12T18:31:00.002-06:002014-01-21T16:57:32.949-07:00Enough is enoughAlright, I have said this many times before but I really mean it now. I need to lose weight! My clothes aren't fitting well and I feel terrible about myself. I need to make my wedding dress and I refuse to do it when I look like this (luckily I have a little over a year until the wedding).

So, starting today I am on a weight loss journey. I won't even pretend that I won't eat any sweets. My body would probably shrivel up and die if I didn't give it some chocolate :) I do need to exercise more and limit my intake of sweets though.

My goal is to lose 20 pounds by Christmas.

I know I can do this!!!Stacyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02933608747298706503noreply@blogger.com2
