My little Punkin's lunch today utilized some leftovers from last night and some fresh fruit and veggies.
We have leftover polish kielbasa, yogurt dip for the apples below, rice, and some cauliflower and grape tomatoes. The yogurt dip I make with fat-free plain greek yogurt, peanut butter, and a bit of cinnamon, it is delicious! Punkin even eats it just like that when the apples are gone :) I've been looking at different bento style lunchboxes and I have decided to purchase a Yumbox for Punkin. I have LunchBots Uno on the way for me that should be here tomorrow. I'm really excited to go on fun picnics this summer :)
In crafting news, I finally got around to taking a look at this Cabbage Patch Kid hat that people have been going mad for. I decided it would be easy enough for me to make without a pattern so I just decided to wing it. It turned out pretty darned cute! A bit tight for Punkin but it fits her little cousin perfectly. I will gift it to her and make Punkin one slightly bigger. Of course with all the yarn I have I don't have any great colors for these hats, the best I could rummage up was this gold color.
And here is the baby in it.
Sorry for the red eye.

Two bento meals
Yesterday my little munchkin went to her grandma's for the afternoon so we didn't have a bento lunch. So instead I made her a bento supper:
I made some corn dog muffins, peas and carrots, ketchup for the corn dogs, and some sliced pears. This was the first time making the corn dog muffins and they turned out pretty good. I made some larger ones in rectangle shape for the man. Very easy, just a box of Jiffy corn muffin mix (prepared) and sliced up hotdogs.
Today she gobbled up her whole lunch with no prodding at all.
Grape tomato and cucumber, sliced banana, Ritz crackers, turkey roll-ups, and cheddar cheese. Since she ate so well I let her have one of the chocolate chip cookies I was baking for a friend who just lost his dad.

Bento Lunches
I have recently become a fan of Bento style lunches. What an easy way to make nutritious lunches for kids and adults alike! I'm especially excited to start this with my 2-year-old daughter. I made the first one yesterday and it was a big hit!
We have turkey roll ups, cheddar triangles, unsweetened applesauce with cinnamon, grape tomatoes and cucumbers, and pretzels.
Bela loved the colorful containers :) I just used a Ziploc container bottom to hold the silicone baking molds in place for now. I'm looking at all the different Bento lunch boxes and trying to decide which ones to get for us.
I can't wait to make more of these lunches and get more creative as I go!

I've been a busy girl!
First off, potty training update. DD is doing great! She has an accident every once in awhile but for all intents and purposes she is potty trained!! We still use pull-ups at night but she usually only wets about once a week, not bad for an 18 1/2-month-old.
I have been having a great time picking out paint colors for K's house. He is excited that the house is finally getting some character after living there for almost 3 years...typical bachelor :) No, he works so much that there isn't much time for him to worry about home decor. I love it though so I'm glad I get the opportunity. Things are going really well with us too. He is such a sweet, caring, and honest guy and he is great with DD. I seem to get way more accomplished when I am with him...or just at his place :)
I finally cooked up a batch of Mom's Super Laundry Sauce tonight. It is separating right now and I can whip it when I get up at 2am to go to work. I really hope it works well and I can't wait to try it. I'm pretty sure K will have a load of greasy, dirty work clothes that I can try it out on tomorrow or Friday :)
I also started the No Poo (no shampoo) thing tonight. My hair feels so clean, soft, and light right now! I will post updates but I think I'm really going to like this :)
Both of the above ideas were found through Pinterest. I am completely addicted! I have even tried quite a few of the things I have found there...although I have many, many more things pinned that I need to try.
But now I need to go to bed since it is almost 11pm and I need to get up at 2am!!

Potty training
DD is now 15 months old and has been pooping on the toilet since last November. I decided it was time to potty train her. We started 4 days ago and she is doing quite well. The first day we went through about 15 pairs of pants but she has gotten better each day. So far today we are only on our second pair and it is 2:00 in the afternoon.
I was going to trying training pants but I couldn't find any that would fit her. She weighs about 21 lbs. right now and the smallest training pants I could find start at 29 lbs. I decided we would go straight to the underwear (which weren't too easy to find in her size either). I figured, what is the difference between washing pants versus cloth diapers? Also, she fits into much smaller pants without the bulky diaper so we have lots of pants. She even fits into some 6-9 month sized pants! I had her in 18 month size (and some 24 month) with the diapers on.
At home she sits on the normal toilet with a padded toddler seat and at my grandma's house she has a potty chair or she uses the travel potty seat on the toilet. I've been giving her stickers each time she goes....there are stickers everywhere, lol. I have been meaning to read some tips and tricks on potty training but I've been too busy and we seem to be doing pretty well. Hopefully we won't have to deal with diapers at all pretty soon!

Once again it has been awhile since I posted. On December 15th, 2011 I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. She is now my life and takes up all of my time...which is why I haven't been blogging :) Motherhood is such a joy. I never believed I could love someone so entirely before. She is growing so fast though :(
Besides that I have been spending a lot of time with my grandma. She was recently diagnosed with lung cancer and is currently undergoing chemo treatments. I get to see her every day and she loves spending time with Bela. Bela absolutely adores her too :) She is doing very well so far and I hope she has many years left with us.
I have re-started Weight Watchers. I have about 16 pounds left to pre-baby weight and then I will see if my old clothes fit. If they don't I will be shooting to lose more. I refuse to buy new clothes so whatever I have to do to fit in the ones I have is the goal.
My knitting and crochet goals for the year are way behind. I just don't have much time to work on projects. I'm still in the House Cup though and so far I've managed 3 classes and detention this month. I'm working on a 4th class so we will see if it gets done before midnight. And with that I am off to knit :)

September
Term is going good so far. The first few days were hard because there were a million OWL proposals to go through. I literally spent over 10 hours doing approvals in the first 2 days!! Luckily that has slowed down and I now have time to work on my projects.
I finished a pair of fingerless mitts that will be handed in for DADA. I might add a coordinating item though so I haven't handed them in yet. I started a dress for Anabela and a monster in Green Bay Packers colors. I also have the Green Dress done except for finishing. I've started 2 of the blankets for my OWL and both are going great so far.
Speaking of the Packers, the first game of the season was Packers vs. Saints at Lambeau. Since it was the first game I got to see it on tv here in Colorado. It was such and exciting game. The team is looking great so far this year! We won by the way :)
It is finally starting to cool off here and I am excited. It has been far too hot here this summer and I really didn't enjoy it. This is my first fall here so we will see what it brings. Hopefully I will be able to wear some knits soon :)
